Labyrinth descends model

Here is the latest Labyrinth work. Images show a few options of a
labyrinth. Working on finding a model that is still a labyrinth that can
ramp down and descend while being a multiuse area that can be used as
outdoor ampitheater greek theater style. Challenging because labyrinth
path goes back and forth and skips around, not a perfect spiral down. Drawings at 1:100, then Model at 1:100 and finally model at 1:50 that
spirals down 2 m.

Hi Julie,
The outdoor Labyrinth/amphitheatre is a nice idea. I think you are pretty close to resolving the path however we need to know that the ramp/walkway meets the regulations, what material it is constructed out of, what it looks/feels like to walk the labyrinth, what is sounds like etc. Still a lot to resolve. Could the Labyrinth landscape be tied into the new built form more? You seem to have scrapped many of your original ideas too. I think some of them might still be relevant. Build some layers of meaning and narrative. I liked the Apple trees! The water wall was also a great idea, i just think your reasons for having it needed to be more resolved. I think if it wasn't just a wall it would be more successful. Could it be mounded, stepped, sliced etc. Have you seen the Garden of Australian Dreams at the National Museum in Canberra? Or the Botanical gardens in Cranbourne? Both of these are interesting examples of built landscapes with layers of narrative and meaning. I encourage you to keep creating layers of landscape. There is a lot more of the site to use!
